Once upon a time there was a young girl who loved reading fantasy stories....

Most of my works are watercolor, however I have been branching out to acrylics and digital painting on some pieces. I may eventually make the switch from watercolors to acrylics in time. I listen to music when I paint and am inspired by a number of things: nature, books, songs and more. I am most inspired by the pre-Raphaelites, surrealism and the impossible works by M.C. Escher.

I am a Christian fantasy artist and I live in Florida with my wonderful husband, son and pets. I am a completely self taught artist, learning from trial and error, books and the internet. My heart has always belonged to the fantasy realm though as I was always reading books like the Lord of the Rings, the Chronicles of Narnia and the like while growing up.

April has had her artwork (Mermaid Queen of Atlantis) published in a book titled "Visions of Atlantis".

Preferred painting supplies- Arches 300lb hot press watercolor paper or Crescent hot press illustrator/watercolor board. Daniel Smith, M. Graham, Yarka and Windsor and Newton professional watercolor tubes and pans. For digital works, I use a combination of Painter and Photoshop.
