Meetup.com
A while back I learned about the site called Meetup. This is a social site where you can search for upcoming meetings and start groups in your area for any number of topics, including those that further your professional goals. I’ve been searching it from time to time for various groups such as figure drawing or art to find meetings in my area that I might like to attend and sharpen my art skills and networking. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck in my area (except for about 100 miles away which is too far for me) but depending on where you live you might have groups close by that you could go to for networking and more practice on your art. Those lucky enough to live in a place like New York have many groups available to them. So give it a search and see if you can find a group tailored to your specific interest.
